The all-English academic periodical Biosurface and Biotribology (BSBT), sponsored by the University, was included into the catalogue of Chinese high-quality Sci-Tech periodical in mechanical engineering field and rated as a level T2 journal, the one of renown both at home and abroad, according to the latest Mechanical Engineering Classified Catalogue of High-Quality Sci-Tech Periodicals released by the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society on November 15 in Hangzhou.
Candidate periodicals for this classified catalogue consisted of 124 major Chinese and English sci-tech ones in Chinese mechanical engineering field. The evaluation committee is sponsored by the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society and led by several academicians. Dozens of member experts in the related engineering fields conducted preliminary investigation, preliminary review and final review. Eventually, 49 periodicals were selected as the Chinese high-quality Sci-Tech ones in mechanical engineering field, 6 among which were T1 ones (international first-class level), 18 T2 ones (international level of renown), and 25 T3 ones (high level recognized in the industry).
Founded in 2015, BSBT is currently sponsored by the University in collaboration with the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), an internationally famous publisher. In 2016, it was nominated as a “Category D Project for the Promotion of International Influence of the China Science & Technology Journals”; in 2018, it was granted the national serial number CN by the National Radio and Television Administration; and in the same year, it was included the databases of Ei Compendex and Scopus. Positioned in a multidisciplinary frontier field, BSBT publishes the relevant research papers, topic reviews and comments related to Biosurface, Biotribology and Bionictribology. The journal focuses on researches in the discipline of mechanical engineering and involves the ones in Biomedical Engineering, Bioscience and Materials Science. To be more specific, subjects of BSBT papers cover basic frontier areas such as tribological theory and technology of Biosurface, Biosurface in biological systems, bionic design and manufacturing of biological surfaces, human organs and issue, biological materials and coatings, biological tissues and biomedical devices, and bionictribology design.
